In November I ordered my first-ever latex catsuit. With the numerous Black Friday sales going on for latex and rubber clothing companies, I knew it was the time to act and fulfill one of my biggest desires. I ordered a custom made-to-measure suit from China, and I waited in anticipation. My catsuit finally arrived in late January 2022! In this blog post, I'll be discussing my new latex suit, how it fits, and what I need to do next time.
[Update May 2022] - Shortly after purchasing my catsuit, the seams fell apart along the bottom of my arm through my torso. The glue just simply failed to hold the latex together any longer. I DO NOT recommend purchasing anything from The Kink On. I emailed them to see what they could do, and they said they'd ask quality control. They never replied any further.
Ordering my catsuit
I ordered my rubber suit during the Black Friday Cyber Monday sales in November 2021. Catsuits are expensive! You can look up spend anywhere from $150 to $1000 on a suit depending on the vendor, thickness, add-ons, and quality. One of the latex clothing vendors from China that I've been following for years announced their sale, and they had the cheapest pricing by far for a good made-to-measure shoulder-zip suit. There were cheaper suits out there, but I was worried about the quality. So, I chose to purchase my suit from The Kink On, a latex company in Guangzhou I believe. It's owned by Manolo Ortiz, a former Latexcatfish model. You've probably seen photos of him online because they are widely shared.
I decided on a shoulder-zip catsuit because I didn't think I was ready for the struggles of a neck entry suit. With a shoulder zip I would at least have that seamless look while still being able to get out of the suit easily.
Anyway, since I knew The Kink On was a legit company, I placed my order for just over $200 with the Black Friday discounts. After placing my order, I had to send in my body measurements for the suit. That's where the trouble started.
Measuring for my catsuit
I have never measured my body for any reason. Period. I've had my body measured years ago for a tux rental and to buy a dress shirt, but that was long ago and I don't have the measurements. So, I had no choice but to do the measurements myself. This really isn't recommended, especially for something expensive like a catsuit. You should always have someone help you or measure for you. Unfortunately, since I want to keep my fetish a secret from my family and friends, I didn't have anyone to turn to (I would have no other reasons to be measured, either). I did try to research some places that could help measure, but there didn't seem to be any tailors for a few miles.
That meant I was alone in this endeavor. I had to measure myself with a tape measure according to their required measurements chart and hope that I did everything right. I did a pretty good job with my upper body. I think my biggest accomplishment is that when the suit arrived it fit and wasn't too small, which was my biggest fear. However, I obviously didn't measure correctly because the final product was too long in the legs and the crotch area is really loose and baggy. More on that in a minute.
So, the lesson here is to either get someone to help you or make sure that you are accurate in your measurements. It is best to not add an extra centimeter or anything like that because you want the latex to be tight. It will stretch a bit! if you measure everything too large it will be too big and you won't have that seamless second-skin look.
My latex catsuit arrives
In late January 2022, my catsuit finally arrived in the United States after a long production cycle and shipping. I picked it up from my mailbox service, rushed home, and decided to try it on real quick to make sure that it fit. As I mentioned earlier, I was afraid that it would be too small and I wouldn't be able to wear it. So, I applied a minimal amount of Vividress to my skin and slipped into my new catsuit. As I pushed my feet into the attached toe socks and smoothed the black latex over my calves and knees with my palms, I was immediately overwhelmed by the sensation. It fit tight, and the bathroom began to fill with the sweet aroma of rubber. I pulled the latex up over my thighs and crotch, and finally up to my waist. Much to my horror, the legs were slightly too large and the crotch area seemed too baggy. I immediately knew that I had made a mistake with my measurements and that this suit wouldn't fit perfectly.
I continued to slip into the latex, putting my right hand into the sleeve and attached glove first. The sleeve only went to my elbow! I panicked, wondering how they had managed to make that mistake when I measured my arms multiple times. There was no way they could have cut the arms too short! I noticed the zipper then and realized that the shoulder zip actually extended onto the bicep. Breathing a sigh of relief, I slid my other hand into the sleeve and glove and pulled the suit up to my neck. I then zipped the shoulders to my neck one at a time.
Now covered in latex from neck to toe, I looked in the mirror. Everything fit perfectly like a second skin except for my legs and crotch. The neck also seemed an inch or so too wide, but I didn't mind that. While the bagging legs weren't ideal, I had managed to get a catsuit that fit for the most part. I began to sweat immediately, and I took the suit off after only 5 minutes or so.
My experience so far
I've only worn my catsuit twice so far. Once to try it on, and once for a photoshoot for social media. This second time I had the suit all shined up with Vivishine and it seemed to fit even better. Although the legs and crotch are too large, it really does fit tight everywhere else. I stayed in the suit for more than an hour the second time, and I paired it with my microperforated latex hood from Kink Projects. I can't wait to wear the suit again, even with the imperfect fit. On the bright side, at least I know how to correct these measurements for next time! And believe me, there will be a next time.
I'd like to add a piece of colorful latex as well as something transparent in the future. Only time will tell.
Overall, I think the latex suit is made well. I also don't think the suit smells like chocolate like so many others say about Chinese latex. After washing it and shining it up, it doesn't smell too different from my other items. Sweeter, sure, but not a distinct smell like chocolate. It's a relatively inexpensive suit, which is exactly what I wanted for my first one, knowing that I can always upgrade in the future. Hopefully it lasts for a long while!
