Rubber kinkster Huuan launched a new online resource for fetishists and gear lovers called GearHub on Mar. 12. This new website allows you to search for new latex and rubber gear from various vendors, all in one place.

I first learned about GearHub when someone I follow on Twitter retweeted their post about how the online rubber shopping experience was in need of an overhaul. "We rely almost entirely on word of mouth to find rubber gear and it's often difficult to trust that what we buy will be good," Huuan wrote on Feb. 21.

Huuan shared a Google Form that same day asking participants to fill out a short survey about experiences with buying gear. Then, four days later, they shared a poll asking about names for the new website. The site officially launched on Mar. 12 with announcements on social media. The news quickly spread, with the announcement tweet earned more than 17,800 impressions by the 15th with more than 29 retweets and 118 likes.

Site features

The site launched with the ability to search products from five manufacturers — Blackstyle, Invincible Rubber, Kink Projects, Libidex, and Skintightrubber — with more to come. Product lists are updated weekly, ensuring that the gear you're searching for is up-to-date. The primary draw of the site is the ability to search each of these manufactures at once instead of relying on search engines like Google or the individual manufacturer websites.

"We go a step further than gear websites' searches," Huuan wrote on Twitter on Mar 12. "With GearHub, you can search products' descriptions. For instance, if you want to see what a color of rubber looks like on gear, just search that color!"

You can also search by specific manufacturer or type of gear, such as suits and uniforms, hoods, tops, bottoms, shorts and underwear, bondage gear, accessories, and bedding.

The site also promises resources are coming soon to improve the discovery of the best gear on the web.

GearHub is entirely built by volunteers and relies on support and donations. You can donate to the project and offer your help by visiting their website.
